Classroom Teaching

Prof. Riza is involved in teaching the following classes:

Optical Engineering

This is an undergraduate senior-level class suitable for engineering and science students interesting in learning a combination of optical science and engineering that allows the design of practical optics. The class is appropriate for students with little or no prior formal knowledge is optics, but requires the knowledge of entry level college physics and mathematics.

Photonic Signal Processing

This is an graduate-level class suitable for engineering and science students interesting in learning the design and implementation of photonic signal processors. The class is appropriate for students with basic formal knowledge of optics and signal and systems mathematics. The class covers design examples in antenna controls, radar signal processing, metrology, biomedical imaging, and sensors.

Wave-Optics

This is a graduate-level class suitable for engineering and science students interesting in learning the basics of optical interference and diffraction theory with examples in Fourier optics, interferometry, polarization effects, and coherence. The class is appropriate for students with basic formal knowledge of college level mathematics and physics.
